Chef's Training

Natural Gourmet Institute's Chef's Training Program is a 619 hour professional program focusing on culinary technique and interdisciplinary health-supportive instruction.

Natural Gourmet Institute is a professional culinary school with an interdisciplinary curriculum focused on cooking whole ingredients in health-supportive ways. Chef’s Training students learn principles of culinary technique, food science, fundamentals of nutrition, as well as the connection between food and healing. They also learn to integrate numerous approaches to diet and health within the framework of NGI’s criteria for quality food selection.

Our program is mostly plant-based, with some instruction in sustainable seafood, poultry, and meat. Strong emphasis is placed on whole grain and gluten-free baking techniques. Students also learn to convert traditional recipes with refined sweeteners and flours to more whole, healthier versions. Our Chef’s Training Program is one of the most well rounded approaches to culinary education available.

Demo and Book Signing with Alum Chloe Coscarelli

Tuesday, October 7, 6:30pm - 8pm

NGI welcomes Chef Chloe Coscarelli, popular vegan chef and winner of Food Network’s "Cupcake Wars", to celebrate the launch Chloe’s Vegan Italian Kitchen. In this new book, Chloe proves that you don’t have to give up pastas in creamy sauces, cheesy-style pizzas, or luscious tiramisu to eat vegan. Plus, she adds some distinctly delectable twists to make vegan Italian cuisine that is every bit as delicious as the originals. The evening will include samples of some of Chloe’s favorite recipes, a cooking demonstration, and a chance to win great raffle prizes. Seating is limited - RSVP today.
